Setting Century’s three movements each explore human perception of time. Ticking’s relentless violin clock underscores dreamlike melodic fragments. Tolling dilates the ticking into bells, as wind exhalations contrast an eternal string melody. Streaming’s unisons phase into close canons. Long or short, time flies.
