This mixed ensemble is a love song to nature, as well as a farewell song to a late family friend and mentor. Different timbres and solo lines float on top of a steady ostinato in the piano, clusters and dissonances adding texture to the piece as it builds to a climax before falling quickly back to the motive from the beginning.
