Pandemic Piano Collection

These brief pieces were written during the pandemic of 2020 and 2021 while I, like many of us, was more or less confined at home to work. I put each piece on Facebook and was happy to learn that there were pianists who enjoyed them and played them, some of them for church—some are seasonal—or just at home. One person said he used them for sight-reading practice. Each piece is based on a familiar melody, and quite conventional in the use of musical elements, and not difficult to play. I believe that what a composer writes should have some purpose and be of use. —Emma Lou Diemer
