This reflective work was inspired by HBO's television series "The Tudors" in which the pope pronounced an apostolic blessing to the people of Vatican City from the "Ubis et Orbis." This solemn work reflects the composer's yearning: gratefulness in retrospect to the year of old, and anticipation at the prospect of the new year.
